STUDENT CONDUCT ON BUSES
The Board of Directors requires students to conduct themselves at the bus stop and on the bus in a manner consistent with established standards of behavior in the District Student Code of Conduct.
Parents are responsible for the supervision of their child before the child boards the bus in the morning and after the child leaves the bus at the end of the school day.
Once a student boards the bus, s/he becomes the responsibility of MSAD #35. Such responsibility shall end when the student is delivered to the designated regular bus stop at the close of the school day.
In cases when a student does not conduct him/herself properly on a bus, such instances are to be brought to the attention of the building principal by the bus driver. The building principal or designee will inform the parents immediately of the misconduct and request their cooperation in addressing the student's behavior. Informal conversations between the bus driver and the parent who may be at the bus stop may also occur.
Students who become a serious disciplinary problem on the school bus may have their riding privileges suspended by the principal. In such cases, the parents of the children involved become responsible for seeing that their children get to and from school safely.
