Weekly News Letter 10/26

Thank you to all the family members who came in to talk with me during conferences. If you missed your appointment or would ever like to meet again please email me or call the school.

Many parents mentioned the fact that we only do vocabulary work instead of spelling. While I am very happy with the way the vocabulary program is going, the class will be starting a spelling program within the next few weeks. This will be in addition to the vocabulary words we have each week. I am looking forward to starting this unit!

Everyday we have a pre-lunch snack in class around 10:15. This helps your student focus on schoolwork by eliminating feelings of hunger and providing an energy boost. In 3rd grade we have lunch at 1:10 which is a change from the earlier lunch times your child may be used to. I encourage you as parents and family members to provide a healthy snack for your child each day.

Be sure to ask your student when Physical Education class is. Remind them to wear sneakers for that day. We have gym on day 4. Tomorrow (10/26) is day 1.

I would like to have parent volunteers come in once a week starting as soon as possible. I would like the volunteers to work on math with students who might need a little extra attention to help them finish their math journal pages. Thursday from 1:40 to 2ish seems to fit best with our schedule. If this is something you'd be interested in please email me at jvinceguerra@msad35.net.
