Maine School Administrative District #35
is comprised of two rural communities, Eliot and South Berwick. Located on the southern
Maine border adjacent to Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the communities are able to maintain
their rural character, while having access to facilities and technology normally only
available in larger urban areas. Neither town has any major industry, although many
parents and residents work for high technology companies in adjacent areas. The tax base
for both towns is residential rather than industrial.
