Principal's Message

Dear Families,

On behalf of the staff of Eliot Elementary School, I want to welcome you to our school community! Eliot Elementary School (EES) is a primary school serving children Pre-K through 3rd grade. The experience that your child has at EES is critical in developing the foundational skills that are essential for success in their learning journey for years to come. At EES, we believe the partnership between home and school is vital for a safe, happy, and rewarding learning experience for your child. I encourage you to take an active part in our wonderful school community. Our motto states that Together we make a difference. Those words are so true! A strong partnership between home and school is a critical element in ensuring your child has a successful year at EES.

This handbook is designed to provide you with important information about our school. It has been prepared as a useful reference to explain and clarify the school’s routines, policies, procedures, services, and rules for the successful daily operation of EES. Following these guidelines will help everyone to have a respectful and safe year in an environment that is conductive for optimal learning experiences. I urge you to read the handbook carefully, and discuss the applicable parts; especially the school, playground, and cafeteria rules with your child so they know and understand the expectations for safety and respect at EES.

I believe that communication is an essential element for a great working partnership. Throughout the year you will receive many newsletters and bulletins about important topics and events at EES. I urge you to read this important communication carefully so that you can be an informed and involved member of the EES community. In addition, I encourage you to contact your child’s teacher, myself, or any other staff member if you have any questions or concerns. Again, working together makes a difference in the learning experience for your child.

Eliot Elementary is fortunate to have an active parent/community group. The Eliot Community Parent Teacher Organization (ECPTO) works hard to support our curriculum by providing funds for enrichment programs and materials. They also help provide funds for special projects that benefit the school. This is all possible through the money raised by ECPTO fundraisers that occur throughout the year. We are very fortunate to have such an active and generous group to support our work at EES. I encourage you to become involved with this hardworking group of EES supporters!

Again, welcome to Eliot Elementary School. We are so happy to have your child and family as part of our learning community! Please contact me or any other staff member if you have any questions (439-9004). I look forward to working with you in the new school year.
