Dear Students,
Speaking for everyone at Marshwood Great Works School I would like to welcome you to the fourth and fifth grade. Marshwood Great Works School is OUR school, both students and adults. Together, we can make your time here enjoyable, exciting and challenging. You will learn a great deal both inside and outside the classroom. This is a school that will encourage you to take responsibility, demonstrate commitment, and show respect for others.
School is a combination of hard work and fun. There will be after school activities that students are encouraged to participate in, but remember, school work must come first. Also remember, that each of us can make a difference in many areas in our own way. One of our themes will be to make positive differences every day.
Again, welcome to our school and good luck!
Sincerely,
Mr. Burnell
Principal
Dear Parents,
Speaking for the Marshwood Great Works School staff, I would like to welcome you to our school. We strive to present a very positive learning experience through a curriculum that will challenge your children. We also feel that you, as parents, are an integral part of your children's education and look forward to working closely with you. The curriculum at the middle school is in a constant improvement mode. Our Board of Directors is very positive about the standard of M.S.A.D. #35. The door never closes on improvement. Teachers and administrators have worked together on curriculum studies in all subject areas as of late, looking at Scope and Sequence, Benchmarks, and Assessments.
Communication is a key ingredient in the success of children at school. Staff members, parents, and students themselves need to constantly work at keeping the lines of communication open. There are a variety of things that can be done, and it is everyone's responsibility.
Marshwood Great Works School also believes in doing things for others. We hope to help instill a sense of responsibility and a feeling of pride in helping others.
Please feel free to contact the school about your questions and concerns. Again, welcome to Marshwood Great Works School. We look forward to a very successful working relationship with you and your child.
Sincerely,
Jerry Burnell
Principal
